The form of the vase and its ormolu mounts reveal an awareness of Japanese and
Chinese objets d'art, though the taste governing their production shows a
tendency for the elaborate typical of the time. The style of cutting is in imitation
of Chinese rock crystal carving. The decoration and the mount are also in the
Japanese and Chinese taste popular from the 1880s onwards.

Musée Baccarat, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Nelson-Atkins Museum
of Art.
